OVERVIEW OF THE CHALLENGE:

The name of this challenge will be the Central Arkansas Youth Bible Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to encourage youth to love the Word of God and Jesus Christ. We believe this is best accomplished by spending time in God's Word, learning about Jesus Christ, and following the truths contained in the Bible.

PARTICIPANTS:

The challenge will be open only to participants with birthdays between 11/14/2008 and 11/13/2012. Verification of birthdays will be completed during registration. Additional participants may be included in future challenges as resources are available.

DATES OF THE CHALLENGE:

The challenge will run from January 1, 2026, to April 18, 2026. Study materials will be available beginning on January 1, 2026. April 18, 2026, will be the date for the final competition to determine the winners of first, second, and third place.

ELEMENTS OF THE CHALLENGE:

The challenge will consist of multiple elements. These include the following:
1) Guided self-study - A study guide will be provided to each participant at the beginning of the challenge. This 15-week study guide will help each participant understand the assignments to be completed during the challenge.

2) Reading of the book of Ephesians - Each participant will read through the book of Ephesians one time each week. Over the course of the 15-week study, the participant will have read Ephesians 15 times. This will help ensure a good grasp of the book's content. The average ready will be able to read the entire book of Ephesians (six chapters) in 20 minutes.

3) Memorization of the book of Ephesians - Each participant will memorize the entire book of Ephesians in one of the approved translations of the Bible (KJV, NKJV, NASB, ESV, NIV). This is a significant part of the challenge and will ensure that each student is ready for the competition aspect. This will require the most significant time commitment of the challenge for most people. Each week, about 10 verses will need to be memorized. This will take most people about 90 minutes per week.

4) Writing of the book of Ephesians - Each participant will handwrite the book of Ephesians two times during the course of the challenge. This will be done by handwriting a portion of the chapter that you are studying each week.

5) Bi-Weekly study group - Each participant will be expected to attend at least five (5) of the eight (8) study group meetings held during the contest dates. The study group is provided to assist and encourage each participant to remain focused and on track to complete the study guide and each assignment by the due dates.
